alexander pagonis grew up in Queens, New York, where his interest in cameras developed early and stayed consistent. After experimenting with different forms of media, he gravitated toward analog photography, drawn to its physicality and relationship to memory. His work became increasingly narrative-driven, and photography eventually extended into professional work shooting for fashion brands.
That approach carried into film. In 2024, he released Man Over Aegean, a short documentary following a fisherman on a remote Greek island. The film explores labor, place, and tradition, and has screened at eight international film festivals. He later directed As She Saw, a short narrative about a young Greek girl living in New York who writes a letter to her mother, reflecting on distance and belonging.
Alongside filmmaking, Alexander focuses on business and brand development. He is the co-founder of SIRE Clothing, a denim-focused brand where he contributes to creative direction and marketing strategy. He also works as a Marketing Associate at the Hellenic Film Society, supporting outreach and programming initiatives.
Now, as a Film & Business student at New York University, Alexander continues to blur the lines between artistry and entrepreneurship, building work that bridges media into one evolving narrative.
Outside of his work, his interests include R&B, BMW E30s, and travel.
